August 10, 2023 - Richard Baratta QUINTET, featuring Craig Handy and Bill O'Connell
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0053102/
Richard Barratta draws from his thirty plus years in movie production as a producer and equal number or more years in music. The arrangements are mostly in a Latin/Jazz feel, and are very audience friendly, original, and swinging. A Q+A is often incorporated at the some shows, and "soup to nuts" discussion about the relationship between the visual and audio in music and movies, the emotional thread, mood, selection of songs.
Richard started his advanced musical journey in NYC in 1975, played, recorded and toured, then in 1984 switched gears into film. For 35 years, from 1984 thru 2019 he was heavily immersed in movies, producing a number of films, including WOLF OF WALL STREET, THE IRISHMAN, and JOKER.
He was nominated along with his pianist/composer, Bill O’Connell, for a Grammy in 2021. His first CD, MUSIC IN FILM-THE REEL DEAL has garnered over 3.5 million listens on Spotify. The follow up, MUSIC IN FILM-THE SEQUEL, released in September of 2022 is closing in on a million listens and has received highly favorable critical reviews.
