CHRIS ARNOLD
Chris Arnold is a native of Rockland County, New York. Though he is mostly a self-taught artist, he enrolled in Rockland Community College in 2019, at the age of 43, and is currently pursuing an Associate of Fine Arts degree there. Aside from his interest in photography, he is also skilled in other art disciplines including painting, drawing and sculpting.
Chris has worked as a scenic artist and assistant set designer at local theaters including the Helen Hayes Theater Company and the White Plains Performing Arts Center. In the early 2000’s, Chris worked for Prosthetic Renaissance, a visual special effects company that creates silicone prosthetics for Hollywood movies, television and commercials. He has also worked as a professional fabricator at various scene shops and as a wall covering installer.
Chris Arnold’s influences are varied as his skills, pulling from Classical, Greco-Roman, Renaissance and even modern art and artists. Edward Hopper stands out as one of Chris’s greatest influences; his focus on heavy shadows and lines and often solitary subjects is often reflected in Chris’s work.
