4 Thursdays in June: 8, 15, 22, 29, 2017 - 11 AM, at the Edward Hopper House
New York artist Ceora Derow will teach a class inspired by our current exhibition of Mercedes Helnwein’s oil pastels. Come be inspired by exhibitor Mercedes Helwein and her fierce figurative drawings. Take that inspiration into the gardens at Edward Hopper’s House and explore your visions on paper. Oil pastel, paper, drawing boards and brushes will be supplied. Feel free to bring whatever else you fancy. Each class may be taken separately ($25 per class for Members; $30 per class for non-members), or the 4 workshops may be purchased as a bundle for $100 Members; $120 for non-members. (Because the class will be held outside in the Garden, if it rains on Thursday, we will move the class to the Friday immediately following.) Raised in the 70s, Ceora Derow is the daughter of a fashion designer who studied under Halston, bopping about the Bowery, visiting artists in their lofts and shopping fabric houses when they existed East of Houston. These moments manifested a designer like quality in her artistic style today. Currently exploring landscape and topography and how they affect our movement and how humans affect Earth's movements. |
