The thematic centerpiece of our 55th anniversary is a curated, walkable exhibition featuring 55 Hopper-inspired photographs from artists worldwide installed in storefronts and community spaces throughout downtown Nyack. The selected images capture the light, mood, and quiet moments synonymous with Hopper’s style.
Since April 3, 2020, our popular, long-running weekly Instagram social media campaign #HopperHappens have evolved from a tool for connection during global isolation into a central pillar of the museum's digital community. This Juried Photography Exhibition takes inspiration from the 2011 and 2012 “Hopper Happens” festival organized and curated by artist Kristina Burns in downtown Nyack.
This Exhibition was juried by the distinguished artist Richard Tuschman. Tuschman began experimenting with digital imaging in the early 1990s, developing a style that synthesized his interests in photography, painting and assemblage. Since 2012, beginning with his celebrated series, Hopper Meditations, he has focused on creating cinematic, open-ended photographic narratives that explore the complexities and emotional nuances of human relationships.

Guided Preview Art Walk & Director Tour
Thursday, June 11, 5:00 PM–6:30 PM
Experience the show on foot with the Museum’s Executive Director and exhibiting artists. The evening of art and conversation will begin with a wine toast and light fare celebrating the selected photographers.
TICKETS: $15 Members, $20 Non-Members, $5 Highschool / College Students, $10 Friends / Family, FREE Exhibiting Artists

Prizes will be awarded at SOLSTICE DINNER, and NIGHT HAWKS CONCERT
- First: $500; Second: $300; Third: $200
- Juror’s Award: Upgraded 1-year membership to Friends of the Museum ($150 value)
