Our Trees*: Maple, Oak, Tulip, Beech - Get to know them through art-making!
Inspired by James Prosek’s current exhibit “Memory, Trees and Shadows”, come join us and create prints with locally harvested leaves. You’ll learn a masking technique that reveals the different leaf shapes, along with making colors from leaf pigments. Prosek’s exhibit highlights the human relationship with nature as a whole, and making art with natural materials allows us to experience our outdoor surroundings more relationally. Come with family and friends!
*The Lower Hudson Valley has been called one of the hardwood capitals of the world because of the great variety of broad leaf trees. It is one of the rarely spoken reasons why it is so beautiful here! Come have fun being with the trees through making art with their beautiful broad leaves.
