SECOND SUNDAY FAMILY PROGRAMS
Families are invited to come on the Second Sunday of each month to participate in an engaging workshop led by artists. The program will be “drop in” between 1 PM and 3 PM, and the materials fee will require a $5 contribution from Members and $7 for non-Members.
October 9, Scribble Art Workshop: We'll be using cool colored tissue paper to create "paintings" inspired by the Hudson River and 100 years of Hudson River paintings. We'll begin by using oil pastels on canvas to explore the movement of water. We'll consider how repetitive line within landscapes suggest the rhythmic undulations of waves. Then, using white glue as our binder, we'll explore ripping, shaping, overlapping and combining tissue paper to create abstracted shapes that evoke the imagery of colliding water and land.
November 13, Scribble Art Workshop: Paper sculpture.
December 11, Benjamin Levy: Origami Santas and Dreidls.
