Exhibiting at Edward Hopper House
The Edward Hopper House Art Center selects exhibits through the Exhibition Committee. This volunteer committee is a diverse group of professional artists and/or curators. We have three separate spaces to be considered for exhibition proposals (plus the Sanborn Gallery, described below):
The Main Gallery, which comprises the two south galleries
The following annual shows take place in this gallery:
We encourage group submissions and curator proposals as well. Work will only be considered for the calendar year next being scheduled. We may ask you to resubmit or hold on to your work for consideration in the following year. Responses will be sent to artists by October 31.
The Hopper Hallway Gallery
This space is dedicated to work that pays homage to, or is in some way inspired by, Edward Hopper and/or his work, but that reveals the artist's own signature style and personal expression. Selections are made on a rolling basis throughout the year.
The Gift Shop for Artist Members of the Month
By joining the Edward Hopper House as an Artist Member ($50 level) or above, you are entitled to exhibit in the annual members show AND be considered for one of the 12 annual Artist of the Month slots. Selections are made on a rolling basis throughout the year.
The Sanborn Gallery
The Sanborn Gallery is dedicated to work and memorabilia by Edward Hopper and/or artists he worked with. We are not accepting proposals for this gallery, but we are open to discussion and hearing ideas.
Artists/curators are welcome to submit proposals for the any of above slots/shows, if the guidelines allow.
Artists are responsible for delivery/pickup and all related costs. With the exception of Artist of the Month, work is insured by the Edward Hopper House. If work is for sale, Edward Hopper House takes a 35% commission on sale.
Thank you for your interest in exhibiting at the Edward Hopper House. Please contact me with any questions.
